Shawn Tompkins was a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He was the coach for the Los Angeles Anacondas of the International Fight League. Today he is an instructor at the Tapout Training Center.

Bio[]

Shawn has taught such notable fighters as Sam Stout, Chris Horodecki, Mark Hominick and since recently Goran Reljic, Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva. He has also fought himself in UCC, a Canadian MMA organization now known as TKO Major League MMA. He owns a professional record of 0-4. He officially took the reins from Bas Rutten as the Los Angeles Anacondas head coach on March 17, 2007, just before their matchup against the San Jose Razorclaws.

In August 2007, Tompkins brought his Team Tompkins and IFL Anacondas team over to join Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, and in October 2009, he resigned from Xtreme Couture and joined the TapouT Research and Development Training Center.[1]

Personal life[]

Shawn is married to Emilie Stout, the sister of fellow fighter, Sam Stout.[2]
