Strawweight, also referred to as minimumweight or mini flyweight, is a division in mixed martial arts that generally refers to competitors weighing 115 lb (52 kg) or less. In boxing, the strawweight division is 105 lb or less.
The strawweight division in mixed martial arts – is not defined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission combat sports doctrine – as it groups all competitors below 125 lb (57 kg) together. Thus, the division is rarely used in the United States and is sparsely used in most MMA promotions.
A notable exception is Shooto, which regular holds contests at that weight class and circulate a championship belt for that division.
